Sadly MISE has shut up shop but keep an eye out in the future for MISE PART 2!
MISE( as featured in Woman and Home mag and soon to be on RTE Nationwide programme...ooo get us eh!) is a funky and fresh art space, bringing a quirky edge to the art and design scene. MISE is a large, bright and airy space in Barna Village, 10 minutes from Galway city, where dynamic and up and coming artists can exhibit their work to stunning effect. While a dedicated art space, MISE also exhibits a large range of talented designers working in contemporary jewellery, ceramics, glass and textiles.
A selection of gorgeous jewellery by designers Alan Ardiff, Uccelli, Nicole Barth, Oyoko, Mirabelle and Et le Bijou are available at MISE, as are some great ceramics by Stephen Farnan, Shelly Pots and Aylet Lalor. Margo Selby textiles and glass work by artists Helen Hancock and Dervla O'Connor are also available. Many of the artists will work with customers to create pieces that meet their particular needs. This makes MISE an ideal spot to pick up an original and beautiful gift... or perhaps a little something for you!
A large range of exhibitions will be taking place in MISE, with owner, Rona O'Reilly, an artist herself, who studied sculpture for her degree and then went on to complete her masters in art critical theory being particularly keen to use the space to exhibit all genres of high quality art forms, making MISE a break from the norm in the traditional sense of a gallery.
Also stocked is a range of high quality art supplies including Fabriano paper, Bockingford sketchbooks and Derwent and Royal Talen products. Easels and canvas are also available at the gallery and along with any special orders can be delivered straight to your house. MISE is aware of the importance of having accessibility to quality art products. With this in mind MISE shall also be looking to supply specialist art books in the near future.
